This collection of new work shows Lyons’ continual evolution. These new images are created from digitally combining his graphite drawings, photography, painting, and pastels together to create a meditation on affectionate masculinity and it’s juxtaposition to the frantic and energetic and sometimes toxic environment we find ourselves in today.

The simple drawings’ energy is still evident but now instead of being distilled for stark and concentrated emotion, they are now combating or being enhanced by the color and energy of all the imagery surrounding and competing with the original figure. Look for references of propaganda, RF noise, brutalism, futurism and nostalgia, all mixed together to create something truly new.
